I don't know if you've seen the recent Canada lulz, but they even run the pretense of replicating its political power, while having almost nothing to show for it. The local propaganda is trying hard to keep us in the dark over here, but I'm fairly sure that Europe is running behind Africa. The way things seem to go, South Africa's GDP is probably going to run ahead of France by 2035, if not earlier. I haven't really been following Costa Rican politics in the past few years, but I suppose this is just one advantage of avoiding political-economic blocs that thrive and die on replicating the structure of ye olde USSR.
