The more alert among readers of The Tar Pit -- assuming there are any -- have probably noticed a couple of changes to the blog's layout. More precisely, I have openly and unashamedly stolen from Mircea Popescu's blog his comment numbering layout, as well as his idea to put trackbacks at the bottom of the comment list, leaving the former separate from the latter... because that's pretty cool, innit?
Additionally, I have done a few minor tweaks to the "recent posts" section on the first page: since wp_get_recent_posts
grabs both published articles and drafts, filtering out the drafts can yield a smaller list than desired, e.g. I want to display the sixth most recent posts, but if I add a bunch of drafts, there'll be less than that displayed on the main page. The reader, on the other hand, shouldn't care about drafts at all, so I fixed this stupid behaviour.
These changes are now captured in a new V patch on top of the "thetarpit" branch on the MP-WP tree: mp-wp_thetarpit-tweaks.vpatch (seal).
Note that, given the separation between the main MP-WP and this stray branch, this V patch also includes billymg's latest changes. Furthermore, I have mirrored billymg's V patch and seal, to which I have added my own:

That it is, that it is.
